The Project…
The school is the the first multi-purpose skills centre in Brufut.
It teaches Carpentry, Sewing, Printing, Welding, Computer skills, Adult Literacy and Agronomy, as well as Arabic, Mathematics, and English, and houses a community library.

Katuba Health Centre
In Katuba, North Gambia, it is a 2 day walk to the nearest hospital for pregnant women to give birth. We are currently refurbishing the local health centre to change this.

The Brufut Education Project was founded in 2002 by Mustafa Ndure, a Gambian living in London who works as both an artist and a stallholder in London’s markets. In January of 2009 a growing circle of friends travelled to Brufut  to continue building the school.
